Second Hand Noise
for the drive, for the silence
Sifting through CDs on a thrift store shelf How many times has someone donated the same scrap album hoping to rehome it The heat is cranked, and I’ve sweat through the shirt under my coat there’s this weird textured dust all over my fingers where I’ve touched each case and I’m here because spring has decided not to come Just snow that falls But I need the noise of anything but silence When I drive to and fro Cause there’s just something I’m waiting on And it hasn’t seemed to find me So I’m sifting through someone’s forgotten collection Picking out the ones that catch my eye Tracing each title Hoping to adopt it, like noise, into my life For now - Forbes
Went to the thrift store yesterday.

That looked suspiciously like my music... only mine was on cassette. I wish you happy listening!
